Chocolatey & Warming Superfood Latte
The term “magic mushroom” has taken on a new form the past couple years as people have started to discover adaptogens and all their wonder. Adaptogens can vary from Siberian ginseng to Ashwagandha and can be found in many different types of mushrooms.
While I’m sure some of us enjoy eating some sautéed fungi from time to time – these ‘shrooms are a little harder to come by in your average supermarket. Which brings me to why we need to praise companies like Root and Bones for sourcing organic, pure adaptogens like Chaga and making them easily accessible (and consumable!).
I tend to switch up which adaptogen I’m using depending on how I’m feeling that day. Their benefits of adaptogens can range from supporting your adrenal glads, stabilizing your body’s stress response and regulating hormones. Today I noticed a slight tickle in my throat, and since Chaga has incredible anti-bacterial and detoxifying properties it was just what I felt I needed. Combining this mushroom superhero in with other “superfoods” like cacao powder and coconut butter, you have yourself and delicious yet empowering latte that is just what the doctor, or in this case, Acupuncturist ordered.
Ingredients:
8oz nut milk (I used hemp)
1 tsp Chaga
½ tsp raw honey
½ tsp cacao powder
¼ tsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp coconut butter
1 dash of cinnamon
1 dash cayenne pepper
pinch of pink salt
Instructions:
Warm the milk in saucepan or teapot
Add milk and all the ingredients to a blender, blend and enjoy!
